10-year technical partnership guarantee The heavy fabric research and development department, Quechua's partner for researching and testing its components and assemblies, conducted tests simulating the ageing of rucksacks. The tests focused on components, seams and the end product. As a result of these tests, Quechua can guarantee all bags tested for a duration of 10 years from the date of purchase indicated on the sales receipt.
10-year guarantee, conditions The guarantee covers any rucksack faults, except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty is only valid with the product and sales receipt. If the product is covered by the warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. This commercial guarantee does not affect any statutory guarantees that are applicable in the country of purchase.
HYDRATION There is a compartment in the bag to place a water bladder (there is also a hole to let the tube out). The water bladder is not included in this rucksack, but you can buy a 1, 2 or 3 litre one in store.
Lab tests We complete laboratory tests to certify components: fabrics, buckles, straps, foam, zips... for example, for a fabric: resistance to abrasion and tearing, colour-fastness in UV light, resistance to washing, waterproofing, etc. A test is conducted on the finished product replicating the wear on the rucksack over a number of years to check the strength of the assembly: the rucksack is weighted, then placed on a dummy which reproduces the movement of fast walking over thousands of cycles.
How do I adjust my rucksack? 1 - Loosen all the straps (straps, hip belt, load adjuster straps). 2 - Put the rucksack on. 3 - For rucksacks with a capacity of 50 litres or more, place the belt on the hips (it should encompass the iliac bones of the pelvis) and tighten. For smaller rucksacks, the belt should be placed around the waist. 4 -Tighten the shoulder straps. 5 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.
HOW TO PACK MY RUCKSACK? Put your bedding at the bottom. Place the heavy equipment close to your back. Pack your clothes around these items. Keep a waterproof jacket and/or fleece close to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. If carrying a hydration pack (water bladder), this should be placed in its special pocket down the back.
How is the volume measured? The volume of each rucksack is measured using a standard method: we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.
Environmental measures The environmental impact of the product is calculated based on its full life cycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE mark is given to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing similar products to each other (T-shirts, trousers, rucksacks, etc). Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labelling approach. For more info: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
